Our four-year-old program provides a wonderful balance of learning and kindergarten readiness with play and socialization. The curriculum is designed to fully prepare your child for kindergarten.
We follow a schedule that includes opportunities for growth in the areas of personal/social development, gross motor skills and complete kindergarten readiness. The daily schedule includes circle time that allows for practice of the days of the week, months of the year, and weather. We have one-on-one art projects, center time, playground time, group games, estimation jar, show and tell, journal writing and much more.
Our readiness opportunities include following directions in a group or individually, developing vocabulary, recognizing rhyming words, scientific activities, matching, sorting, patterning, graphing, identifying and ordering numbers, counting, recognizing letters, and sounds, identifying and writing both upper and lower case letters, beginning sight words, and cutting skills.
Each week our four-year olds attend music class with Mr. John. They also attend a monthly presentation by our “Story Lady” who arrives in costume and puts on a dynamic interactive program. Parents are also invited to participate by coming in as a Mystery Reader whenever they like.
Our four-year-old classes provide a four-day program, which meet Monday through Thursday.
